Pressing F6 in firefox dismisses the address bar

This problem bugged me for a few years. Every now and then I press Ctrl+L to focus the address bar for e.g. copying the url, but after that, pressing Ctrl+L again does not dismiss the address bar. In the past I reach for my mouse and click somewhere on the page to dismiss the bar, but today I found the list of all keyboard shortcuts in firefox on their support page. Press F6 and problem solved.
The lesson is that when something bugs me, I should look for an answer right away, instead of letting it happen over and over for years. F6 is less friendly to touch typing compared to Ctrl+L though, and there doesn’t seem to be a builtin way to change the bindings. Maybe it’s time to add a new addon for that to my ever-growing addon list.
